Use a real lightning wallet at least. Phoenix and Blixt Wallet are good non-custodial LN wallets.

You can still use WoS to receive zaps and then withdraw to your own LN wallet, but don’t use Muun, it’s terrible and not even an LN wallet.

No, Muun no es una billetera Lightning. Es una billetera en cadena y funciona con Lightning usando “submarine swaps”. Por eso, las transacciones pueden ser muy caras, especialmente cuando el mempool está lleno.

Because Muun isn’t a lightning wallet. It’s a terrible on-chain wallet that makes LN payments using submarine swaps. This makes it expensive to use and is bad for bitcoin scaling overall by putting way more transactions on-chain than needed and bloating the UTXO set with a ton of tiny UTXOs (which is another reason why fees are so expensive with it).

PSA: don’t use Muun.

I don’t think there is a Mac build target, but because Apple silicon chips have the same architecture as iPhone and iPad devices, the M1/M2 Mac computers can just run the iPad version.

I don’t think it would be too hard to make a Mac specific build though that would run on both Intel and Apple silicon machines.

Lol it looks like Twitter blocked themselves from their own API 🤣

Damn that’s a lot of mega zaps! ⚡️

It’s maybe fine for very light usage, but it’s terrible for privacy since Muun has your xpub (you can’t even view your own xpub with Muun) and there’s absolutely no form of coin control. All the submarine swaps over time will leave you with a mess of UTXO dust that will get expensive to move out of the wallet and it bloats the UTXO set as a whole.

Yeah I would only use Muun for LN <> on-chain swaps. It can get a little pricey at times though. It’s terrible for LN payments and receiving on LN though.

WoS is probably the best LN only experience right now but it’s totally custodial.

My current favorite LN wallet is Blixt Wallet, it’s a full LND node on your phone so it’s fully non-custodial and totally sovereign since you can open channels to whatever nodes you want. The only downside is you can’t currently receive LNURL-pay payments/use an LN address but the dev is currently working on a trust minimized solution for that.

It’s because Muun isn’t a lightning wallet. It’s an on-chain wallet that just interacts with LN via submarine swaps. It’s actually a petty terrible experience if you start to use LN often.

Slight technical correction, it not a BIP39 phrase, it’s an Aezeed phrase (since LND uses Aezeed which has additional info such as wallet birthday encoded in it). Another BIP39 wallet won’t recognize it as a valid seed, the wallet would also need to support Aezeed, such as BlueWallet or another LND instance.

It’s not cheap with all the dust those LN payments make. Look at all the 1000-5000 sat dust UTXOs that were in my Muun wallet. I just emptied it on-chain since it would have been even more expensive to use LN with it.

Everyone should withdraw any bitcoin they have on a custodial platform into their own custody. #ProofOfKeys

It’s 100% a submarine swap. That’s been confirmed by Muun devs several times.

Also my sats are now trapped in muun for 680 sats to send them back.
