Good morning nostr, we're sitting in the dark because our power's been out since 1:30 this morning. We had a very strong storm blow in, so my huband just got the generators going and plugged the freezers in. One of the generators started sputtering and quit, but we can move the other one around if needed. He starts up the generators every couple months, and this is the first time we've had a problem with one. But we have plenty of emergency lights around the house, and if the power doesnt return soon, i have a little butane stove to make coffee. Anyway, not a great way to start the day, but it'll be ok. Yall have a great saturday, enjoy your coffee, and remember that today is a gift (even when there's no power). #coffeechain #PowerOutage

I guess it's a good time to learn how to clean carburetors of you already don't know how. It's actually rather easy if you just take your time and take pictures of how it something looks before you remove it and remember how many turns any set screws are set from their bottom. Do you only use non oxygenated gas in them?(No ethanol)
I know he uses non ethanol gas in them, but i'll ask if he has cleaned the carburetors. Thanks for the tips.
Check the air filter also to make sure no mouse built something. If you need help walking through the carb let me know. But sounds like you guys already know that two is one so you should be good for this outage.
Thank you, when it gets daylight, i'll ask him to check the filter too. If he has any trouble, i'll hit you up.
He started it up after cleaning, but now there's fuel leaking out of the bottom of the double lines (on right side in pic). Any ideas?
The float may be stuck down letting the gas keep coming into the bowl and over flowing. A chunk may be stuck in the needle and seat which the float lifts up the needle to seal it off when the carb is full. Sometimes a good jostle can break it loose. Pick generator up about 3 inches and drop it. May need to drop bowl off while leaving rest of carb on and ensure the float stops gas flow when raised up. Or perhaps the float is in backwards. Sometimes chunks of stuff come from gas tank and plug up the needle and seat and prevent it from sealing.
GM Maria! I hope the power comes on soon!!
gm Leatha, we havent had rain for months, and the first rain we get is a storm, of course. Oh well.
GM!
Haven't started mine in 2 years. I'm probably fucked.
What gas do you use? If ethanol then probably yes. Sometimes just buying a spare chinesium carb for your engine and having on the shelf works as a decent back up for most issues
Great day Maria. GM π
