Goose bumps reading this.

His Rice University speech was a huge joke

What did he say?

πŸ˜‚πŸ€£ well it was wwe btwn the US and the Russians so I get it but I also see your point and it’s spot on too!

Its hard to know the real Zeitgeist of the 1960s. I think the older generation new they were lies about the absurdity of going to the moon, especially if you see how bad the interview of Apollo crew was. Their body language says it all.

I disagree on the notion that the older generation were aware of the bamboozle. Definitely there were Some that were, but most folks go with the flow just like they do today. Plus this was an era where trust in the gvt was very high or at least way higher than it is now and the information pipes were tv, newspaper and radio; which were heavily influenced by the state. The whole thing looks ridiculous now when you look back at it.

I dont doubt that you could be right. Maybe im Mandela affected haha. Im only a GenXer, so maybe Boomers can say otherwise, but I remember growing up and it was the Zeitgeist that the majority believed space and travelling to the moon was just science fiction including NASA.. Only something changed in the 2000s where after lots of space tv shows that people believe in Nasa and space travel etc.

Interesting perspective when you bring in the generation dimension. As a millenial that grew up in the 90s watching stuff like Star Trek and Star Wars to name a few, this whole idea was presented differently and the lynchpin has always been the moon landing. Ironically for some of us, we started noticing oddities in the narrative that could never be explained properly. For your generation perhaps that’s when the skepticism was starting to gain momentum but having said that I still think that you were probably around β€œout of the box” thinkers if the prevailing consensus around you was β€œthis was faked”. Way different than what some of the GenXers believe and a ton of boomers too.

I was a huge TNG fan and loved Star Wars too, so i dont know if i was out of the box.

In this video you can see no one was interested or paying attention to Nasa. The world was massively different before smart phones. Smart phones have really fucked up Normies. They were so much better to be around before they adopted facebook etc. http://blossom.happytavern.co/1541c32e4b293a94b0a22712bdb09f70b9bb801cc02729f11d21a2d32aa5d87a
