You donāt need a lot. I have way too many. You need some paid relays though. Your notes donāt show up on global when I filter to only paid relays.
Discussion
If I have 1 paid am I good then? Seems like global feed is short term in it's current form
nostr.š· is really good and does rebroadcasting to othe public relays, as well as pull and filter spam out š¶š¾ā”ļø
You should be okay with one paid relay, but I would grab some while theyāre extremely cheap right now. In Damus, I filter my global feed to only show paid relays, so there is practically zero spam. Makes the experience much better, and you can always turn on a free relay if you want to dig for newcomers.
I bet they go down in Sats price.
Competition will increase
Possibly, but they might increase because spammers wonāt mind paying a few sats to spam the global feed. Eventually, they will probably charge a few sats per note you post.
I doubt that business model would gain traction. People like free once paid for. Subscription, maybe.
Spam is def set to increase
Yes, it just depends on how the spam moves. There will be many different relay options. Some will be pay-once, others will be per-sat, and some will be free. They may even find other ways to monetize. What you choose will depend on what experience you hope to have.
For now though, definitely grab a paid relay so we can see your notes in global š
Which relay or relays do you suggest? š¤
Do you mean choosing your relays by āfilterā?
I don't know what that means
In Damus you choose which relays show on your global feed, so a lot people have it filtered to only their paid relays on global
I have several relays that Iām connected to, so when I post a note, everyone on those relays see the note.
On Damus, in the global feed, you can choose to filter the relays that you see. So youāre still posting to all the relays youāre connected to, but in global youāre only seeing notes on the relays you want to see.
