One would not be completely remote and would require travel.

Well, if you ever find yourself in the position to take advantage of that situation, I would jump on it.

A 100% pay increase is much better than trying to get move ahead via promotions while always having the fear of being laid off.

I've come across this before, just didn't feel it was for me. I have enough of a time focusing on one job with a myriad of side projects/hobbies.
