This is something I tell everyone who gives that same response. Voting (no matter how corrupt or “fixed” anyone feels the election process may be) is our only hope and chance of having any voice of our own in how things turn out. Obviously it’s a very flawed system and many things need to change, but giving away our only say in the matter doesn’t seem like the best solution. That’s just voluntarily handing over one more “right” they’ve been dying to take away from us for decades.

You can't fight criminals via the channels they set up for you to fight them.
You have to stop funding them & create tools to help protect people who disobey them. When everyone can comfortably disobey then the tyrants have no power.
Democracy is (at best) lowest common denominator mob rule. And the reality is that you can't gain control of the mafia & turn it into a charitable organization. Governments can only sustained by criminal acts, otherwise it ceases to be a govt.
