I don't vote because they're all criminals, but Trump seems to scare & piss off all of the worst people in politics & the media. He also didn't start any new wars & tried to take conflict with N Korea off the table which puts him lightyears ahead of most other politicians. He was such a problem for the bottom line of the military industrial complex that they made up "Russian collusion" & repeated that nonsense for 3 years & then used the emotional distaste they manufactured toward Russia in the minds of idiotic Americans to garner support for a proxy war that ultimately kills millions & just destroys Ukraine.

Our criminal govt investigated the man for years & the charges they finally brought are built on "novel legal theory" because they had to stretch to even pretend a crime was committed, & of course they waited until just before the election year to bring said charges.

It couldn't be more obvious how corrupt everything is, people who think Trump is the real problem are brainwashed morons.

"didn't vote because..." okay, so you gave up and "they" won. vote. take a stand, then i'll read your replies.

You vote, you don't get to complain. You want democracy, I don't.

I refuse to pay taxes & contribute to the system, we are not the same.

This is something I tell everyone who gives that same response. Voting (no matter how corrupt or “fixed” anyone feels the election process may be) is our only hope and chance of having any voice of our own in how things turn out. Obviously it’s a very flawed system and many things need to change, but giving away our only say in the matter doesn’t seem like the best solution. That’s just voluntarily handing over one more “right” they’ve been dying to take away from us for decades.

🎯💯

You can't fight criminals via the channels they set up for you to fight them.

You have to stop funding them & create tools to help protect people who disobey them. When everyone can comfortably disobey then the tyrants have no power.

Democracy is (at best) lowest common denominator mob rule. And the reality is that you can't gain control of the mafia & turn it into a charitable organization. Governments can only sustained by criminal acts, otherwise it ceases to be a govt.

I hear you!

I haven't voted FOR a politician in my life, but I vote AGAINST the worst one, every time.

And there's always a worst one.

In terms of slowing the slide into tyranny, voting is like throwing rocks at an advancing Main Battle Tank. Most probably useless, but you might get lucky and damage its sights, causing it to unexpectedly blue-screen and drive in maddened circles.

And what was the Trump Administration, if not the Establishment blue-screening and driving in maddened circles?

We'll see how things go, but primaries have been stolen on both sides in recent history. And maybe I'm wrong, but I suspect we have reached a point in the corruption where the general election may never have an honest outcome again. Sure it's not a ton of effort to throw a rock at the tank once every so often, but the amount of time & energy most people spend on politics would be much better spent building useful things. Black markets save collapsing societies, new presidents can only marginally delay the inevitable.

Probably doesn’t have to be said but it’s more of a ridiculous demonstration of how much power the executive branch (and federal government) has that everyone has to pay undue attention to the presidency every 4 years aka “vote or die!”. The “right” person needs to get in or “democracy dies”. Etc and so on.

That and the idea of legislating through executive orders shows a break down of separation of powers.

I’d rather pay little attention to that and focus on more local shit shows.

this is one reason why our rights are not up for a vote - there is no "respect my rights and restore the Republic" option
