I don't know much about feet. Taking him with you for a pedicure sounds like good advice. An RN told me I should get a manicure for my thumbnails.

I chew them off when I'm nervous. They're all mangled now. I may get something to shock me if I put them near my face.

As with any surgery, infection is a big concern. Things like necrotizing fasciitis and sepsis. So keep it clean.

My only experiences is in the OR. Where antibiotics are always administered by the anesthesiologist as part of the surgical pre-op.
