From that era, my favorite Red Wings were Sergei Fedorov & Nicklas Lidstrom.

I’m a righties guy. Can’t like lefties. Sorry. It’s the rules.
I can't pick favorites from that era. The entire team was a unit. Darren McCarty's winning goal, I remember that.
I remember that well too. That’s my era of hockey. 90’s
And how have we not mentioned the Avalanche-Wings rivalry yet?!
"What's your favorite memory of that rivalry with the Avalanche?"

The Avalanche was my 90s team. Patrick Roy was my guy.
Roy was the best. Mental game better than any. Loved that guy.
John Vanbiesbrouk is my top all time goalie. I watched every game I could that he played.
Claude Lemieux was despised around the league not just by Detroit fans.
90s era hockey was wild.
Never forgave Messier for busting Linden's face in the '94 finals.
Even then, you could feel the Bettman tilt toward selling the game into the USA. He's still booed by Canadian fans mostly due to his influence on the game. Can't argue the success but it's a different game today then it was in the 1990s.
If Joe Sakic were a righty he’d be my favorite all time player.
But nope. He had to be a fuckin lefty.
I’d still probably be a Stevie Y guy though.
But Sakic was dynamic.
Man, talk about a walk down the memory lane. Googoo Doll's "Iris" will forever be etched into my memory after the Wings won the cup.

Sorry for the potato quality but couldn't find a better version. It's ESPN's 1998 Montage dedicated to the Wings.
