Seriously though, the concept of this seems overblown imo.

If you have a ChatGPT account, you can get your API key from: https://platform.openai.com/account/api-keys

Your API key will also give you access to both GPT-3.5 and GPT-3.5 Turbo.

If your account doesn’t have GPT-4 access, you can sign up on OpenAi’s waitlist here: https://openai.com/waitlist/gpt-4-api

You’re still dumping your data to OpenAI, so I’m not sure what is gained by this.

Using api requires you to add payement methods. Having chatgpt plus doesn't give you access to Api directly. Afaik!

This is the opposite of owning your data.
