So if I read this right, the difference between us would be you favor more restrictions on corporations but we both have same ideas on social restrictions?

Probably. Im probably what's referred to as socially liberal. I don't really care how people live their lives as long as they don't try to push it onto me.

My stance on corporate restrictions really depends on the circumstance and the particular regulation. Something that holds back businesses from developing, like licensing and certain other regulations that stand in our current environment seem asinine to me. But regulations on say toxic waste management for factories and production companies are probably a halfway decent idea.

These two stances seem to be in conflict to me...(And maybe they are in conflict and you're fine with that. This isn't an insult)

What's the difference between "how someone lives their life" and "how someone runs their company"? If you don't want other people's opinions pushed on the former, why is it okay on the latter?

I think In general, I don't really care how somebody runs their company. But I tend to draw a pretty hard line when there's a company that is, for instance, dumping a bunch of toxic waste, in an irresponsible manner and harming communities around them. You would hope that people running large companies would dispose of waste in a responsible manner, but this is not always the case.

For instance, in my local area, I can think of two specific examples. One was a cabinet company who was dumping their leftover paints and staining materials down a drain that led to a river. They have been heavily fined and are now watched very close by the city. And there was a pressure-treating plant for wood that damaged the area around it so bad that if you live in a 10 mile radius from the plant, you really cant have a garden and Unfortunately, there is a fair amount of housing surrounding the plant, which I think is stupid, but whatever.

It probably does conflict with the former but at least in the specific case of irresponsible waste management that does harm to the community and envroment, there should be some form of penalty and I don't really know how else one would enforce regulations like this without some form of governance.

I’m sure you are right.

Is not the best test, very much biased, not based.
