Early doors on getting a venue space we can run workshops, room hires, music studio etc.

Anyone here already in that world? This would be a new venture for us… Getting our brains in gear.

I wonder what the conference spaces biz is like? We can certainly run music and arts workshops no problem. ‘Creative retreat’ could be something but quite labour intensive, unless we can partner with local b&b/hotels etc.

There’s certainly never been a bitcoin event down this way… so perhaps that’s something to consider.

To build something of value in this area would be very cool.

Spitballing here as some clever fuckers might challenge our ideas….

my memory may be wrong but I think nostr:npub19r9qrxmckj2vyk5a5ttyt966s5qu06vmzyczuh97wj8wtyluktxqymeukr started something

I think you might be right, seem to remember seeing something.

Where are you based? I would like to try something like this someday

South East of UK. Whilst they have meets in London, never known of anything in this area. The BTC element would be my own sideline along with the rest of the space, the funny thing is now lots of old banks are up for rent and I LOVE that idea. However, if we find a more appropraite space we'll go with it but BTC education and meets in an old bank, well it needs no explanation.

The label already generates a certain amount so it's essentially 1/3rd or the rent covered each month with production and mixes. I'm really quite excited although still to work out the final 2/3rds, not that we don't have ideas, more a case of keeping the space running and busy while we find the right market fit for other activities. The arts and recreation economy has fallen off a cliff but professional and technology services are the highest growing part of the economy, which makes me think leaning into the corn side is a smart move.

Watch this space....
