So, what are we going to do about these impersonation issues?
Discussion
It's going to be a serious issue in future. If it's not already.
Just now someone posted as two other people and I couldn’t tell who is who 🤷♂️
The same thing happened to me last night.

Yeah yeah, save it for the kennel, lady.
Wait, I think it just happened again 😳
Ser, this is Marie pretending to be Boston pretending to be me.

😬…I think I helped create…mas monsters
This was all your fault 🐸🫂🍷
in fairness I used it on you…once…and now it’s yours…if this is even Boston 🍷 😂🤣
We should require IDs and ban people.....
Or just verify, not trust.
No longer use usernames, just NIP-05’d domains. Can’t impersonate a domain they don’t own/control.
Who's impersonating who Karnage??
I think there's an impersonation moderator kicking about on here. Could be wrong. Might've been a dream
You mean "ultimate plausible deniability"?
Easily debunked by the user's social graph + nip05 link + proof of zaps - the OG account should have many more.
This is why I worked on this PR for updating nip-05 to suggest clients display more infomration about account identifiers and link to to external pages where you can check user identity. That this is the Will I think I’m talking to: https://github.com/nostr-protocol/nips/pull/227
That’s an interesting PR.
Is there a reason it’s `account_uris` rather than `account_uri`? Can it really be a comma delimited list? Do people have multiple profile pages on the same site?
When I first saw it I thought “cool, it can be like linktree for creators - but the URLs have to be on the same domain.
Give me a couple weeks and I can have it up and running.
