OCEAN marketing:

"Our mining pool is more decentralized!"

OCEAN reality:

"We'll censor transactions our founder doesn't like."

If your hash is pointed at nostr:npub1qtvl2em0llpnnllffhat8zltugwwz97x79gfmxfz4qk52n6zpk3qq87dze you are anti-freedom.

nostr:npub1sg6plzptd64u62a878hep2kev88swjh3tw00gjsfl8f237lmu63q0uf63m did you know censorship was the plan when you funded this?

Considering what happened while he was still at twatter, this should come as no surprise. Seems like everyone forgot about that once he started throwing money around. Once a fed, always a fed.

Market participants are identifying ordinals as a spam attack on bitcoin that prices out some folks in the 3rd world for sovereignty.

Your criticism carries no weight. The network is not a monolith. Point your hash elsewhere if you don’t like it. But to argue that it’s “censorship” implies you don’t believe that the market should have a say. Which is very FIAT of you.

To explicitly exclude certain transactions is censorship.

And it's clear the market agrees.

🤷‍♂️and yet the pool grows. Enjoy your jpegs I guess

OCEAN really went from one end of the spectrum to the other in the nostr hivemind

Welp ☕️💻

Miners can’t create their own blocks with @OCEAN?

Excuse my unfamiliarity with the matter. I don’t know what’s going on, and I don’t know the ins and outs of OCEAN.

From what I’ve heard/read, that is on the path forward, but not currently possible.

No, but Stratum v2 will enable this

I’d agree with you if nostr:npub1qtvl2em0llpnnllffhat8zltugwwz97x79gfmxfz4qk52n6zpk3qq87dze was the only mining pool in existence.

By the same logic:

- Subject 0 : “We will allow ordinal transactions, our founder loves them”.

-Subject 1 : “Really? Ok, I don’t like them I will stop hashing for your pool; is there any pool that doesn’t allow ordinals?”

- Subject 0: “No, censoring is prohibited in should be the reason of public shaming.”

-Subject 1: “So censoring is not good, self censoring is good, ok…”

See the flaw? Ocean is part of the broader spectrum, it is an option. You can just point your hashrate somewhere else.

Just because you can point your hash somewhere else doesn't mean OCEAN isn't censoring.

Like it or not, ordinals are valid Bitcoin transactions. So are coinjoins. They are censoring both.

Aren’t we all trying to censor ocean then? 😂

This is an unfair oversimplification and misleading. My node is my castle Sir, I follow the consensus rules but beyond that point I change datacarriersizes everyday of the week and twice on Sundays when I feel funky.

It might not necessarily make economical sense, but doesn’t a miner also have the freedom to choose the transactions in the block?
