That’s the thing humanity can’t give up unfortunately.. 🤷🏼

Cannot allow them to continue to hunt wildlife until there’s no wildlife left.

I cannot understand what are in this people’s mind..

To feel powerful I guess that they overpowered such a powerful animal, but with a weapon of course.

disgusting 🤬

Whenever I hear a story about an animal poacher who got eaten or mauled to death by the creature they were hunting it warms my heart.

Me too, they deserve it!

That’s horrible, but in my countryman’s defense he probably just confused the rhino for another American (judging by the photo probably a close family relative) before he shot it.

If only that were true, sadly they throughly enjoy it.

Sad 😥

Ffs, that's disgusting.

Absolutely, hence why they are declining at an alarming rate.

What's wrong with it?

Seriously?

Yes, seriously. Did his posing for a picture inflict some additional harm to the dead rhino?

This is why many animal species become extinct. That should be banned.

Countries need to start banning wildlife trophies from declining wildlife populations.

O.P. States that the Rhino was shot legally. My understanding is that hunter tags are sold for older endangered species, and the money from that paid tag pays for the wildlife protection agents to protect the younger/healthier members of the species.

The creation of this market incentive allows the Rhinos to exist into the future. Without a market incentive, no agents would protect them, and starving people will hunt them to extinction.

I'm open to being wrong about this, but this is my understanding and it makes logical sense to me.

That being said, fuck anyone who celebrates a death in this disrespectful way.

My friend there is so much corruption that funds never reach the people that need it. Greed is always greater and the only ones profiting from this are the wildlife hunting tours. Do you know that the Northern White Rhino has been hunted to extinction? Along with southern white rhinos numbers declining at an alarming rate?

The people that live in these areas do not hunt these animals to survive and eat them, they have cattle they feed off so they would never be hunted to extinction due to feeding people. They along with other wildlife are hunted purely for pleasure from arrogant humans trying to feel powerful, hence why they celebrate like this.

Good to know, I'll have to look more into how locals interact (or don't) with endangered wildlife.

Please do, also this site offers a great insight into this.
