Android at any time, because open source software on mobile lives there πŸ˜‰

Fair, I can’t stick with either I like change. I Have a Pixel 9, iPhone SE and a 16 pro max on the way. 😬🀣

Flash GrapheneOS on that Pixel 9 and it will take your freedom to another level πŸ”₯

Android 16 will give super power to android, it will enable you to run Linux software on android πŸ’―

I’ve used graphene. Cool that it’s more private but don’t like anything else about it.

Ya, GrapheneOS has some nice features, and is great for some users, but it's not a universal solution for every Android user. It's only compatible with Pixels with unlocked bootloaders, which not every has or is interested in buying, and there are some usability limitations with some apps, and certain functionality. If I had a Pixel, I'd probably flash GOS as I did back in 2012-2013, but I've been a Samsung users for the past decade and am really happy with the functionality and experience I've gotten from their devices, privacy compromises not withstanding. This is why I like variety. It's the basis of a healthy ecosystem, and provides a range of experiences to a range of users.

iPhone, since it works and I have one less thing to fiddle with or worry about

Yeah, I like both. Go back and forth 🀣

I have the old iPhone SE right now but a new one coming Monday probably

You have to choose Democratic left or Republican right for the rest of your life. Which do you choose and why?

I don’t really want to be a part of either but I’d choose republican if I had to. Aligns with my ethics and views more.

I choose iPhone for now, but could be swayed because like you, i think this feels like a false dichotomy. Like i am a captive audience at a park and people are selling me $9 water bottles or $19 cans of coke.

Android because #GrapheneOS

I'm unquestionably picking Android. I've been ideologically opposed to Apple since the earlier 90s, and have never used any of their devices 9r computers with a very few tech support exceptions. I grew up with DOS and Linux, and am intimately comfortable with that sort of OS. It just makes sense for me to use and understand Android given my specific background. I've been using Android from day one, and the thought of switching to iOS at this point is horrifying.

this is not a fair question tho, there are may android phone brands πŸ€”

*many

Android all the way.

Free to develop on and distribute.

Less walled gardens.

Many, many suppliers of compatible hardware.

Wide range of devices.

Power users can root and actually own the device.

I CHOOSE CENTRALISED OVER DECENTRALISED PERMISSION LESS SOFTWARE IS BETTER WHAT EVER IT IS.!

I think you mend to say decentralised is better πŸ€” πŸ˜… ?

Since Android includes GrapheneOS and its ilk, definitely Android.
