The pledge was started by a flag salesman and socialist (ironically) named Francis Bellamy.

I support the original idea to the pledge of allegiance, however I don't think it should be forced anywhere in schools or anything, I have a love for this country still, but very disappointed it's gone where it has.

The pledge is to an object. That's just bonkers to begin with.

Yeah, it is weird it says pledge allegiance to a flag and not the country itself too.

I support it being recited but don't support it being pushed on people who don't want to do it either.
