Has like fixed his server that got hacked n lost his btc on?

The same server that hosts knots downloads?

There maybe aren't any good guys in this conflict.

the bitcoin core devs, the ones literally trying to keep bitcoin decentralized

Yes I hear the ardent cries of both sides of any war that they are in the right.

exactly. i'm highly skeptical of core30, but having only one alternative is very unideal. ...which i guess is his point

My question is this and maybe its a dumb one... Would bitcoin have survived this long if it was ever only up to one man?

Is he wrong? Someone has to ask the right question.

I don't know. Just pointing out how it looks from an outsider's perspective

If you don't have an opinion maybe you should. Fence sitting, being an outsider, is lazy.

Every node runner aught know what future direction they want...

My opinion is the debate is just ego-stroking over what the market will eventually decide anyway due to incentives, not arguments or ideologies. My opinion is that, for a while, the only thing you can control is what software you run; arguing is pointless. Incentives ultimately control which software becomes the standard. I won't pretend to know what the outcome will be like everyone else.

Yeah, but do even economic incentives, at least how they accumulate their cultural meaning, get influenced by arguments and ideology? If so, words matter and we have the burden of thinking for ourselves, however we too may be swayed by the winds of bias—our own included.

I don't have anything against Luke personally but I think it's exhausting that he calls everything he doesn't like "an attack on bitcoin". It was the same hyperbole from him with ordinals. I don't even really pay attention to this stuff and it's put me off.

Ordinals was a exploited bug, not the purpose of P2P decentralized Money

Went too hard with zapptober ;p I was zaping every post. Like is not endorsment here

Agreed. And honestly, I don't know enough about the intricacies of the debate, but EVEN IF he is right about his position, he must realize how it sounds and comes off to people right??

I was back and forth on weather or not its narcissistic. Providing one solution and calling it thee solution is fairly narcissistic. Assuming there are no other solutions because of all the noise and lack of platform for other lesser known devs is fairly narcissistic.

That being said, i believe the intent of the message was a call to action, namely, keep bitcoin as a peer-to-peer electronic CASH system. Not random data blockchain. Albeit idk what “cash” looks like in the form of data 😅 could be jpegs could be “bc1…” 🤷‍♂️

He thinks he saves bitcoin but couldn't even save his own coins 🤣

It is. If Luke were gone bitcoin would be just fine. None of us are indispensable and that really bothers some people.

Maybe he's drunk but at least he is better than Core
