How do you do that? I dont see any mention of it on the minibits website
In theory
if you add the minibits dot cash address to your public nostr profile, you’ll start to receive zaps transforned to ecash by minibits bridge.
And you can still redeem ecash from dms one click if your wallet is on the same device as amethyst

Create a minibits wallet
Go to contacts
Select a random generated minibits address
Add your npub
Add nostr relays
Copy (your name) @ minibits dot cash address into ln address of Amethyst

I get a lightning error when trying to zap the minibits lnaddress and it doesent go through

Yes. Now i tried zapping myself with the minibits address from alby and it looks like it went through but i have no idea where it went.

I was able to send it to myself. I also zapped you 33 sats. Do you see it in your wallet? You have to add the minibits mint. "Add mint" and "add minibits mint". No idea if your sats will just show up in there or if you had to have it added first.

Minibits gives a number of address options. Just the auto generated addresses seem to have zaps from on to ecash.
You can edit your minibits cash address to one of your liking and still send/receive ecash at least as long if it's from minibits domain.

The auto generated minibits addresses allow for a ln to ecash bridge. You can zap notes with ecash and get zaps on notes that convert to ecash.
The other address types just give ecash functions not zap functions.
Isn't it the same? I can zap your note from my minibits wallet, and you would receive ecash. If you zap me I receive ecash. If I add your contact to my wallet I can send direct ecash to you from the wallet.
Maybe your custom address works, mine currently only works with the generated ones.
I only changed the username. I sent you 21 sats, zero fee, because it's the same LN node from minibits. Still don't know why it doesn't appear as a zap in the note though. Either way, the wallet is very nice.
Minibits address is super cool. Removed my own address for now as I had a decent amount of sats get stuck when paying to it. Will come back to it in a few months
Seems like just he auto generated addresses have this zap function. Ln to ecash bridge.
Could I replace alby with a minibits for lightning address?
Alby and minibits are different, important to note that this setup results in lightning to ecash. The ecash is custodial, but easy & private.
The cashu protocol and wallets building on it are still very young. Wouldn't put more in there than you're willing to lose

Just set up minibits, haven't zapped or been zapped much since I stopped using WoS. I appreciate the simplicity and thought that has gone into minibits.
I've played with the cashu lnbits extension last year and the nutstash wallet too. minibits is a nice evolution from those early projects. I'm stoked for the future of freedom tech.
