Oh geez

😂😂

Does identity live in different PDS at the same time ?

I love the technical details always thank you for sharing this bluesky vision

Has this been implemented?

Great read! Did try Bluesky out today :) like it!!

Looks like a similar architecture to Masterdon to me.

It created social solos & wasn't distributed enough for my liking.

🤷

💯

Except your identity and social graph is portable and there are services to optimise search across the entire network graph.

Who’s the target audience for this blog? Other programmers? I understood more of the Latin on a pharmaceutical prescription so I’m assuming not for the general public? Or am I that outdated??

I would like to see a good comparison of Nostr to Bluesky, even in terms of the AT protocol vs. Nostr. Is the AT protocol better suited for social media? Does it have as much versatility as Nostr? Can it be interoperable with Nostr or other socials?

looks complicated. what's with that rainbow shooting outta the pyramid?

*blows bubble with bubblegum*.....

Did Bluesky consider teaming up with Mozilla Foundation? Yet Another Mastodon Instance

https://blog.mozilla.org/en/mozilla/mozilla-social-mastodon-private-beta-announcement/

FYI

https://github.com/chetmurthy/myxogastria/tree/main/docs

This collection of documents describes a design for a Twitter replacement system, "Myxogastria". Alternate name "Linepithema".

High-Level Goal of the Design

The goal of this design a system that will feel like Twitter to users — from the POV of what data they see, what interactions they can perform — and yet will be fully federated and sharded, in the sense that a typical instance (in the sense of Mastodon) need not contain more than a small fraction of the entire data-set of the system.

It is also designed to be efficient and wherever possible to not repeat computations, repeat data transfers, that were already performed.

Sounds like mastodon, but worst. #nostrfixesthis

Would be good to see >1 client on AT Protocol as it would get closer to the idea of decentralisation.

But I think we should also be careful on what we refer to as decentralisation. POS system lived up to the idea of decentralisation of blockchains, but it misused to pump and dump tokens. One reason Mozilla is going for Mastadon I’d reckon, is because they have full control over the users including viewing their private messages.

The nuances of the protocol in this case becomes critical.

Hi there, I found this podcast with Gigi really interesting as to why PoS can never achieve true decentralisation. Thought you might enjoy it. This podcast was the first time I’d heard it explained this way.

At portocol vs nostr

Nice pentagram you have going there. 😈

How do you see Nostr in the Bluesky architecture?

Bluesky is worse than 4chan. The criminal activity taking place is a haven for violence and murder. Bluesky doesn’t follow data or privacy laws and has no moderation. The new mute list feature is another tactic that will be weaponized to harass people with no ability to remove yourself from it. I am emailing everyone and telling them to delete their account. the app is so dangerous.
