Hey #AskFedi,

Is *anyone* out there using FOSS for accounting?

I'm struggling with Quickbooks desktop (which you can only get as a subscription now, unless you pay four figures for an enterprise license).

#Xero comes highly recommended to me, but I'm loathe to go "#cloud" for accounting. Very loathe indeed.

But while I want to try FOSS for my personal accounting, I just can't make the leap for business yet. I wish I could. But I was wondering if anyone out there already has.

nostr:npub1l3gpk6vrudg8r67swqlex5alv9ch59s4lw46kk6hekuxe2n3aczsyqvu48 ... you don't mention what sort of module support might be needed, like full-on ERP, or Distribution, Manufacturing, Payroll, etc., so a lot of soluions available in the FOSS arena just won't be usable as-is when those more specialized requirements can't be plugged into basic 'ledger' accounting to cover specific business types... i.e.,

Each of those linked software have self-hosted downloads to load/run in-house at zero cost.

Ah, thanks. I've added on to the original post now, but you make a very good point. I wasn't specific enough.

I really just need double-entry accounting, reports, check printing, bank feeds a plus, and bank reconciliation (automatic a plus)
