Saved myself quite a few hours of labor by writing a bash script to reorganize thousands of files in a way that they could be loaded onto a finicky digital photo frame.

Saved myself even more time by having GPT write the script in 10 seconds.

Sometimes I can't imagine how frustrating it would be to be a non-technical normie.

Normies just uploaded everything to Google or Apple.

And every other service....

THE HORROR

That's what non tech normies do these days. It's actually the old school software engineers that hate AI and will spend half a day writing the script in Python for this...

I suspect the normies would have just followed the digital frame's instructions to upload all their photos to its cloud service 😬

Yeah, if that's the thing, then 99% of people will do that. 😄

GPT-5.2 is great. I’d love to see open source LLMs catch up soon. Deepseek v3.2 isn’t there.

Just note: DeepSeek is open-weighted, not fully open-source - you get the trained model but not the training data/code to recreate it from scratch. More context: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KAmQTmooLGQ

Yeah I know. Still lets it get run on hardware outside the data centers of one of the megacorps though.

I’m not an engineer, but used GPT to write a python script that took some unstructured data and get it into a spreadsheet…that would have taken me hours to do manually and I don’t know Python at all…GPT walked me through each step.

You just ā€œfuck This shitā€ and don’t use it šŸ¤·ā€ā™‚ļø

The normie's just sign over their soul to cloud-based IoT companies.

LLMs are an amazing invention, but they are a double-edged sword. The coming decades will show whether it will liberate society or rather enslave.

A normie would just print the photos and stick them on their wall...

Is that for storing your childporn collection?

I saved myself thousands of hours by spending thousands of hours learning how to do this stuff! Hoping to see a net gain any day now.
