What I'm curious about from a legal standpoint is if the Samourai guys are pardoned does that do anything to alter the legal precedent that was set by the plea deal?

Does anyone know?

It doesn't have any impact on the legal precedent, but it does impact the "meta" precedent.

The legal precedents are mixed. Code as free speech and nuances regarding what constitutes a "money transmitter" are conflicting, IMO.

The fact is the president is going to have to go to the mat against the southern district of New York. It is the only way there will be a semblance of justice going forward.
