Have you seen this one? Not exactly Graphene, but comes without Google stuff and you can side load apps…

Ah bummer. Would you say there is a high barrier to entry for small producers to get to the security standards you build Graphene for? I'm wondering what's keeping other manufacturers from having solid grapheneOS support.

The support for Graphene is really up to Graphene to be able to support more hardware and not the other way around I guess?

Anyway they are probably right about the security of the software and the hardware of the Mudita Kompakt (not an expert), but speaking for the Mudita, it doesn’t even come with a browser so the attack surface is quite low, but it for sure would not be my go to device if I where a journalist in a oppressed country.

But that is not the goal of Mudita or Daylight to that matter, they want to make computing in general a less demanding and more pleasant experience, without the negative effects on our (mental) health.

Graphene and these “minimalist” devices do have different use cases, it’s just what you prefer or you can use them both on different occasions, like I’m planning on doing…

Def. Nice to see more options, but traditional e-ink seems a bit too much for me.
