The problem with self-sufficiency is that self-love is simply not going to be enough.

Self-sufficiency does not mean that I do not form connections, but that I form connections that are appropriate for me, not out of a lack. Self-love does not have to be enough, it just has to be strong enough to protect me from dependence and self-abandonment.
