Exactly. If the client is top notch, people don't mind seeing advertisements, if it's free. I wouldn't mind paying for a client and relays access. Not everyone feels this way. Plus, advertising isn't going to go away just because we don't like how Twitter or Facebook does it.

There’s also a difference between generic ads and specific ads that are actually relevant and useful for users.

Historically the only way to serve relevant ads has been to track and observe behaviours and interests at the expense of privacy.

Nostr may introduce clients and relays specific to interests and niches that relevant ads get served on, which would be a win for advertiser, client, relay and user… perhaps 🤔 #[1]
