Made a sausage and sweet potato chowder today, the sweet potatoes made it a pretty orange. The recipe called for some apple cider vinegar to be added at the end with the cream, it added an unreal depth of flavor. This may be common practice for making this kind of soup, but I've only made a cauliflower chowder that didn't say to do this. It turned out really tasty. #foodstr #soupstr

That recipe tho…

I subscribe to a meal plan service called CookSmarts. The gist is:

chop your fennel, onion, bell pepper (I used orange), garlic, sweet potatoes and your sausage and throw it all minus the sweet potatoes in the pot to soften a bit; when soft, sprinkle some flour over it and stir to get rid of dry spots, stir in broth slowly so no lumps; put in sweet potatoes and some thyme and cook it until the potatoes are soft; take it off the heat and add the apple cider vinegar, a little dab will do, heave cream, optional can of white beans, and season to taste 🎉
