Technology is best when it fades into the background. This will happen with Nostr some day. People will just be using their favorite app and not realize that their data is flying around the Nostr protocol.

Then we are in trouble. 😉

Trained monkeys maybe, but not really sure what random background would yield?

Intelligence occurs when the unknown turns known.

Can you expand on that? People browse use web browsers and don't know about the underlying http protocol. They just know that they're browsing websites or "the Internet" with Edge.

email too. no one knows about SMTP or POP3 or whatever. they just say "send it to my Gmail"

Just that we can't get donations with people knowing who we are. Once transparent to them will not matter. Won't go to dark side with advertising or paid relaying. 😉

Ah. I see.

No more Nostr get back to X

I’m never getting back with my X or Ex. Taylor said so.

Never never ever?

Maybe. Give me back my blue check that I had for over a decade and then we'll talk. 🤣

Done now get back to X

Thanks Elno.

Yup, just like lightning when the big players just integrate it. But we won’t forget the devs who started and built it 💪🏻

Absolutely, at some point to use a service you'll make your account and then you realize you've just stepped into a river of potential

Disagree, they'll know and care if it's nostr protocol because they'll have to choose between open Internet (nostr) and closed internet (the rest). Hiding things from users is a walled garden tactic. Apple made users forget how to think. Example: in China everybody knows what firewalls and vpns are..

Hmm. I see your point but I also see apps like nostr:npub1earna05hx6ax38r33h3atmecjzdu547m8suw87w70aw6mlyga4hsqcja5j using Nostr for powering their socials and I doubt a lot of those users actually care or know that they're using Nostr. I could be wrong.

Agree with Derek on this one 💜

I also agree. As much as I hate the closed off AOL Internet style of ZBD I see it’s purpose and Nostr is there to support it too.

Also agree with Derek. Most people really don’t care about the technology they’re using. They just want it to work and make their lives easier.

That could change, but only time will tell!

Ya I just don't like how the internet has evolved, and I've heard this 'has to be so easy people don't know how it works' so often as an excuse to ignore how things work. I can't help but think this is how we got here:

Browsers: captured, centralized

Email: captured, centralized

Mobile Devices/personal compute: captured, centralized

Social media: captured, centralized

Bitcoin: ?

Lightning: ?

Nostr: ?

Is the answer to normalize learning how things work? Or can we really have both? We do have AI to help learn now. 🤔

This is the way. Looking forward to it and helping nostr along on its journey to that end.

Like Windows and OSX

#Linux

That’s right.

If you see nostr password manager, I didn’t mention much about nostr either.

Other than replacing nsec with your email, everything else are familiar.
