Mentally diseased people always try to spread their illness. Like, misery loves company, but the misery is a conscious force that feeds on human suffering. A psychic parasite, maybe. I feel like there has to be a term for this...
yep, it's a parasite... and if we can succeed in disconnecting its feeding needles we can actually be quite free and happy, where only the randomness of life is against us, instead of our own kind as well
I'm having book ideas... Sometimes I try to write. So far, its never turned into anything publishable. But here's the idea - a loser victim geek survives an encounter with a psychic parasite that jumped into him while hanging out with new "friends," and he builds a device that allows him to see psychic forces and he starts to battle them. Maybe better as a manga.
The way memes replicate is interesting. Whether it’s a “disease” or otherwise, it has a property that contributes to replicating itself. The judgment on whether it’s good or bad has zero bearing, at least it doesn’t appear to. Look at a virus. Or humans in general.

I enjoy David Deutsch’s take on “replicators” in his book “the beginning of infinity”. Truth has this property, it lacks any fucks given to what people think. Like a honey badger. Like bitcoin.

Anyways, I'm thinking of getting this book. He's on the other side, in the metaphysical debate - good to know what they're saying, how crazy their justifications are, etc. Might even persuade me... Anything's possible...
