TollGate? Narrow gate to freedom or just more digital tolls?
Free as in freedom, not as in Beer.
Previously, the only way to connect with the internet was to identify yourself so that your ISP could invoice you.
TollGate operators don't need to know who you are, because you give them a voucher (e-cash) and you get internet in exchange. You can pay them with e-cash even though you don't have an internet connection yet.
