Writing Rust code feels like filling a government form.

What kind of evil person invented this and why do they hate humanity.

I fill both with AI now...

I don’t know anything about coding, but I can say that the name of the code doesn’t ring auspicious.

Graydon Hoare invented it because he was inconvenienced by an elevator not working.

What is Rust code?

It is the perfect kind of right-think. Impossible to wrong-think via the compiler. If only social media had such a checker, many a government would be happy.

It's literally like filling a tax declaration. Compiler knows what is right, you have to figure out what is right. And if you fill the form wrong, you get a fine.

I get it for super low level code - memory safe without garbage collection. But very little code is super low level. People rewrite everything in rust now and it's horrible.

Let's go back to LISP! Or python. On anything but C and rust really.

I always liked scheme the best tbh. I was enjoying FORTH on microcontrollers before as well.

These are the most poetic of programming languages. Rust is like English — it is a good language in which to sell a pig.

Lol :)

I feel your pain 😅 I’m a Clojure dev and wanted to learn Rust so that I could work on Bitcoin-related projects but going from a Lisp to Rust is just too much.
