I like Monero. And I'd really like to see it's privacy features in Bitcoin. But I also fear it's going to vanish.

I think if Lightning is able to match Monero in privacy, this could happen.
But keep in mind we're far away from that point. Currently even splitting UTXOs on a private Bitcoin L2 is very very hard.
I spoke to a Murcury Wallet dev about this. He said the reason it can't split UTXOs is because it'd require Lightning integration which is a lot of hard work.
Seems like we're far off from that point.
I hope LN does inherit XMR's privacy features one day. It'd be perfect. And it may well do. But not in the short to mid term.
Would be ideal but I feel we're 10 years away. Hopefully Seraphis cements Monero as the only way to transact digital money. 2024 should be a great year when combined with the bitcoin halving.
I would like to see them combine into one with the best traits of both as well.
.
But I think the trade-offs each one takes is irreconcilable with the other.
I don't think Monero is going anywhere for a long time if ever.

#1 king in network effect for privacy coins.
#2 on the DNM and at it's rate of growth will surpass BTC in the next few years.
#4 PoW coin until very recently with BCH pump (and dump?)
