Something funny:
I stopped reporting scams and impersonators on TwiXter because it was just such an awful, slow, convoluted process. And thus the problem gets worse, or at least never improves, because the best tool for filtering is more annoying to use than it is to just leave them be and be annoyed by all the bot responses.
However, the process is so easy on Nostr (Damus in the example) that I actually report all of them and mute them.
It might not always be the case, but my experience on #Nostr is far more bot and scammer resistant than on Xwitter.
X stopped even responding to impersonation reports. It's a waste of time to report.

I'd be curious to know if they only respond to those that have verified and subscribed now. Seems like an easy way to attempt to force people into verification.
I started lying that I represented the impersonated account to see if attorneys got to skip the line lol
