Illinois just introduced legislation that will classify nuclear as a renewable energy source so it can qualify for the same benefits that wind and solar have access to. Really think about that for a minute. The greenest, densest energy on the planet did not qualify as renewable energy. Absolute lunacy.

Nuclear isn't renewable. Uranium is finite.
We'll be at fusion before we run out.
Spent fuel can be recycled.
If we want to go that route, the raw materials needed to make solar panels and wind turbines is finite as well and a lot of that cannot be recycled -- we're burying shit all over the country.
True, the uranium, sun and wind are the fuels. The reactor, solar panels and windmills are tools to convert.
