Australia's response to the Bondi attack is not surprising but it is truly terrifying.
The governments response has been:
- Ban Protests
- Restrict speech all the way "to the constitutional limit"
- New hate speech laws
- Increase powers of a newly created taskforce to monitor and crack down on speech
All of this comes one week after nation wide teenage social media ban and the slow roll out of a KYC internet.
Plenty of things the freedom oriented should be concerned about
The hard part: I’ve just spent my day in Australia doing what I needed, and none of what you mentioned even crossed my mind…
But just because you’re not conscious of it, doesn’t mean it’s not happening
And it’ll effect you just when you don’t need it to
Default option: focus on what you want
I do find it a hard balance.
I know I could go through life ignoring what I know is happening around me. Push out of my mind that the cage I am in is shrinking by the day and simply enjoy life.
You need to find the sweet spot between knowing what is happening and speaking about it without blackballed and debilitated. Maintain gratitude in what you have. Still try to spread joy to those around you. But do not let yourself ignore the evils.
Find peace in reality no matter how dark rather than hiding from it no matter how tempting I may find that option.
Evil is not a thing brother.
It is an interpretation,
and thus a form of psychotic possession.
Cease to think in this way you have been taught
and such possession will be without a vehicle.
There is only love
because there is only one cosmos indivisible.
All else is shadow, reflection, refraction, ...
When this is realised you will cease to fear
because you will understand you never existed,
not as the character you think,
this too, possession by ideation.
I am going to have to disagree.
Evil really is a thing.
You can chose not to live in fear of evil.
You can know that love will triumph over evil.
But evil is real.
