I was musically aware during most of its run. MTV was revolutionary, not only for music but arguably for a whole generation of cinema. A lot of music videos told stories in 3-5 minutes, with the lyrics tied to the visuals, greatly adding to the artistic expression. MTV defined a whole generation's music, not only as an auditory experience but as a visual one as well.

I don't know if people got bored with the format or if it was a pure money play, but MTV did lose its way. They fell into the reality TV trap, following a format that, while kind of interesting for a season or two, quickly devolved into overproduced and scripted crap with just the barest relation to its music roots.

Even so, MTV and its spinoffs/copycats defined music for many. It started (and ended) careers and allowed for the rise of superstars.

Video really did kill the radio star, but it also boosted the music artist.

A New Year's day desert fresh out of the oven

So basically they are abandoning the retail / consumer ai market. I wonder if it is also partially a push by "the powers" to regain control... I have mixed feelings on the news. For good or ill AI has allowed individuals to generate quality political statements and visions.

Yes I know 90% of the AI crap is based on pushing certain agendas at the most base levels, but there is some good content out there that would not be watched since if did not have a well produced presentation. You are not getting a modern audience to read a poorly memeographed flier, even though that flier probably had more heart, more real passion in it then a reddit post or 20 second ai vid.....

My main sears experience died in the mid 80s... As teens we would of course "go to the mall" and part of that experience was the little arcade in one corner of the sears anchor. It was a hopping place, shelves full, they even had stuff that caught our interest...

I joined the Navy in the mid 80s and my sears experience pretty much came to end, I would pop into the same sears sometimes while on leave and I remember how it was changing, the arcade disappeared, the catalog section expanded, the shelves got a bit more empty. It never became my go to store for stuff, by the mid 90s your right, the place (like most department stores) became dead places. Everything started to cater to an older crowd, the clothes sections got larger, the appliance and tools sections got smaller.

I imagine the remaining stores are more akin to discount stores, places where all the internet order returns and overstock goes on 70% off sales.....

Are there physical limits to the dome size? I understand you were going for the tiny house vibe, but I think a "great dome" and slightly larger connecting passageways would give a nice feel to the home.

I love the addon capabilities, need a new work room just add a passage and a dome.....

When utilities and more retail accept BTC payments. It won't be purely the AIs choice though as there will be rules put into place (I. E. When utility bill notifies by email and bill is within 6 month average +/- 3%, then make payment and send notification)

So not TRUELY without permission, but about as close as it is going to get. And not that far off from real relationship dynamics (spouses come to a meeting of minds about what the expected utility bill should cost and once paid let's the spouse know)

At the end of the day BTC (just like fiat) is a limited resource and needs to be monitored, setting rules (either for others including ai, spouse or self) is the main way to do that.

Wouldn't a true pleb want to bring someone to the light? Sell some sats for cash knowing they will buy more at some point

But yet I like using AI to fill my creative need....... I suck at drawing but I find that with ai I can make something that satisfies my need for quality.....

The counter argument is that society needs rules and a way to manage the big picture. The US constitution, if followed, the federal govt has very limited powers basically to mediate disputes between the states, the protect the various states from external forces, and to ensure one state does not impose its will on the others

Arguably that pretty much worked untill the civil war. When a group of states decided that the federal government was too powerful and was trying to control things it should not (I am not arguing the right or wrong of the main southern cause, we all know that answer). The federal government took on the role that all power structures take, they entrenched and actively fought to maintain power.

That does not mean that govt is inherently bad, it is more the weakness of the human condition... Some lust for power and some are all to willing to give it up. Us that are stuck in the middle suffer.

My big fear is a govt play to either kill or take it over and treat/regulate it like other assets...

We need BTC to be used not just held as investment I know we all laugh (or cringe) at the guy that famously paid for his pizza with multiple bitcoin, but in a real world that is just what we need to do. Hell, I bought my ledger wallet when they were running the eth deal, it cost me 1.4 eth which at the time was around $100... I still came out ahead at the time because I bought it for apx $50

While I am just entering the frey (portion of IRA going into cold storage) bear market just means time to hold and buy more although perhaps in moderation, cost averaging, etc.

For my part, I did moderate the buy, but I plan on using the amount I did not transfer to buy more as the price drops. In about 3-5 years I will have moved that amount into BTC
