I will be live streaming tomorrow at 11am Arizona time (1pm EST / 10am PST) to talk SuperAdobe, homesteading or anything else! Hit me up with your questions and comments and see you there! https://plebs.app/#/live/75a2fab9032f1bd4881b64647d8e951b0158733eba3446c0f2eafea190a4fae5
The Mojave Center, where I learned SuperAdobe, has built domes in tropical climates, so it is possible but I think there are extra considerations due to the moisture https://www.mojavecenter.org/
It's a mixture of 2/3rds site soil, 1/3 sand and about 10% cement. The site soil is high in clay which does not mix well with cement or water, which is why we added the sand. The bag itself is a plastic sandbag https://calearth.org/collections/superadobe-bags
The four photos that sum up 2025 for me. Friends old and new showed up in a huge way and made my dream a reality.
Iβm declaring 2026 the year of the value for value economy. Iβve made sure that everyone who helps with the house has been compensated, either financially, educationally or with food π This is a model that works and should be expanded to other people who want dome homes. We can create a win-win economy where the client and world ends up with something beautiful, and the creators are paid so they can spend more of their time building and making art. This is becoming more possible on the internet thanks to Nostr and the Bitcoin Lightning network, but itβs also a philosophy we can apply in our local communities, paying people who care instead of corporations that just care about their bottom line. We should all be able to make a living doing what we love, and I believe that is possible.
Hereβs to an amazing 2025, and hopefully an even better 2026 π₯

No but once you get to about 20 feet in diameter I think you need double rows of sandbags. Keep in mind that the effort level goes up exponentially, i.e. a 16 foot dome is way more than double the effort of an 8 foot dome
Iβm mostly planning on swales using rainwater to grow plants but maybe a small green house eventually
Thank you sir π«‘
I made this video encouraging my followers on other platforms to join #nostr. Feel free to share/distribute widely! #grownostr https://v.nostr.build/lHKDfBgDEV4n0Grl.mov
Hey Nostr π Thank you SO much for your support and attention to my video yesterday. Hereβs a follow up answering your questions and comments. Iβd love keep the dialogue going and maybe do some live streaming so keep the comments coming #homesteading #superadobe #cochisecounty https://v.nostr.build/JpF2iXkYMcdzFQlr.mov
Getting enough people for the builds took constant networking. There were many challenges Iβll talk more about in my video tomorrow
Whatβs it called? I learned at the Mojave Center last year which is near Sierra Vista, AZ
Sunsites is about 15 minutes away and has a couple restaurants but no grocery store. Willcox is about 30 minutes and has everything
