Love this nuanced take. Authority and leaders aren’t exactly a bad thing, I think what’s needed is a guardrail against illegitimate and corrupt authority, similar to how the 2A was designed. It needs to be more than just a legal doctrine but a cultural bent as well

Sometimes having authority isn't antithetical to freedom, but protective of it, provided the authority is wise enough to recognize that a free people is more productive and requires less intervention. Ruling in line with, rather than at odds with natural law tends to cost less and result in fewer uprisings.
