Actually, BTC LN was the latest addition to the toolbox. I started with BTC on-chain some time ago, then added Monero to the portfolio for increased privacy.
After that, a couple of years ago, I decided to try BTC LN (for speed, obviously, and also read that it provides increased privacy).
So, I decided to go non-custodial in LN too and started running my own LN node. And my conclusion: maybe BTC LN gives you more privacy than BTC on-chain, but still Monero rules in this part. :-) And it is a pain running your own LN node ...
