I’d love for them to self reflect n see what it is that they think they feel when they “like” someone’s note.. what a like means to them doesn’t mean the same for the receiver most of the time, so either way there’s a disconnect there. I’d love for them to interact in the comments of a note more than throwing them a like, it’ll be more rewarding for both users at the end of the day.

Exactly! I also think part of the pushback is that people may perceive “only zaps” as begging for money especially when a user is not an active participant or developer on nostr. If you’re not making tangible contributions to the community, then “only zaps” can feel like virtual panhandling. However, people have the right to engage or not engage, so it shouldn’t be a big deal or create such strong reactions from people.

₿egging for zaps? I am weaning myself off the non value content I produce. I would rather receive nothing rather than a fake smile saying i saw that. If I can’t rouse 1 sat from you the value is 0.
