We really need a way to delete follows that are not active anymore. I bet most of these relays come from those profiles 🤔

There's a DVM checking for active pubkeys. It could use the same code locally as well of course

It would certainly be helpful to be able to trim things down.

Easy. Unfollow all. Refollow manually as you go.

curious if it could be a feature in a client

old follow list stays greyed out in cache as unfollowed, but don't completely disappear, so you can always go back to following ppl you used to follow

hope i explained my idea well

I get it. Would like to add for other problem: the greyed out cache list has npubs names saved as when you started following them.

I get crazy figuring out whos that idiot in my timeline who I apparently follow when its onlydansday, or if someones having an episode of altering PF and name.

I was thinking just show last active time next to followed name

yea, back when i raised the acticity thing, peeps got incredibly touchy about activity tracking

Meh it’s just to see if they are around

agreed

doesn't even need to be that accurate:

last posted:

- today

- yesterday

- x days ago

- x weeks ago

- x months ago

Exactly

The data is there already, it's already listed on nostr.band 😂

Ignorance is bliss I guess.

Something more convenient. Open following list and see all dates in one place. Great if can sort by it too

could be used with DMs/chats, profile bios, following lists etc

Oh yeah I agree. I was just pointing out that being worried about it is silly. Anyone could use an AI to whip up a script using nak to track your Nostr usage in detail.

It’s super easy also just to look at the profile

Yeah, but maybe you want to do some statistical analysis to track time of day they post, who they are taking to and when, whatever. It's kind of silly to post things publicly, then worry about privacy 😂

We already have that. Someone made a GitHub like graph to show when everyone is active. I can vibe it in a prompt 🤣

I think I've used that actually. I'm on here too much, that's what I learned 🤣

I looked at it once and remember it was creepy but nothing I can do about … it’s just the timestamps of our notes

you can also login with npubs and see the last messages imo or smth

Yes. You can see what others see in their feed by logging in with their npub on Amethyst, and I'm sure other clients too. Even metadata for old style DM, just not the content of them.

yeah

it's just how people's psych works

it not being shown helps them be willfully ignorant, and think that that kind of data is hidden and not collected

Some might call that stupid.

😂

🤐

Meh. Could be giving away more info than npubs want given.

It’s all public info …

Maybe if its as simple as a date. I was thinking if you mean like a "browsing currently" or "active last 1 minute ago" would be too easy. Think bosses tracking/ micromanagaing etc.

Just date or rough estimate. You can’t really tell if someone is browsing currently without nonstop relay hits and that’s not even feasible in practical terms for many people …

In following

Also the ability to sort by this would be nice.

as a tiny subheading under names in this view

although it'd decrease the loading + scrollingtimes, as each time you'd need to fetch the latest data

Yes this list

Can you confirm the screenshots are “following” view you have in mind

Mark them as inactive if their last event was at some arbitrary past date, then only check inactive pubkeys every once in a while (random). If a new event appears, mark them as active again.

...sites down 😕

I’ll look into it sometime today thanks for letting me know.

Should be up now.

Is the unfollow source code available?

Would you mind me running an #onionservice instance on #tor ?

Thanks.

I wouldn’t mind at all.

I’ll make the repo public when I have some time so can fork it.

i made a script for it.. maybe will release but no one uses the golang scripts so i guess you gotta add it to amethyst 🐳

ABSOLUTELY .. there is no reason to search notes from anyone who is not active for over a week .. if you don't use it ... You lose it ... Simple

I want a system where my followers have to pay me 1 Satoshi a year in order to stay as my follower. If they don't pay it means they are inactive and it takes them off my followers list. Who gets the Satoshi? I dunno split between me and my main relay

Yes, but never finished the unfollow action, you can filter contacts by the last time they published tho. I really need this tool, too, but got distracted by other stuff. I'm going to finish it one of this weekends and deploy it

https://github.com/gzuuus/colorillo-lab

this God-damn other stuff

I like that only 6 of the people I follow haven't posted anything in the last 12 months. 💪
