?

Sats are def converted into $ and look how many information you will need to provide about yourself lmao

Isn't that required for all political donations?

This^

To be fair I think legally he need to KYC otherwise donations could be coming from Russia, China etc. I was surprised he put up that QR code at the conf. Anyone around the world could have (and I assume still can) send him btc to that address and he would be in violation of what I understand is US law against accepting political donations from foreigners.

I guess Kennedy doesn’t understand bitcoin.

Is KYC human?

So instead he should accept anonymous Lightning payments and open himself up to ongoing FEC violations during the 2024 election? He’s trying to be elected president.

The proof is in the doing, but there was a lot to like in his Bitcoin Conference speech.

No thanks.

Won't be voting.

Never have, prolly never will.

One day people will learn that the people going for the power, will say and use anything they can to get it.

Then they end up doing what ever they are paid and told to do by the lobbies...

He’s LARPing

Federal elections law requires that all donations to a candidate’s political campaign are identifiable.

If RFK did not collect this information, he would not legally be able to the funds on his campaign.

🥴

Drunk face is not a very intelligent reply

Well, the problem here is why would you accept bitcoin donations that are instantly turned into $ And openly telling to everyone how bitcoin is about the freedom lol

We know that there are not too many Bitcoiners who first of all would support politicians ! Second, not gonna make them a target in the future by doxxing themselves.

I won't support anyone who just says they "accept" BTC. They have to agree to pass some of it on to help build our economy.

Fiat exchanges are not our friends!

Isn’t the purpose of a campaign contribution to spend it on the campaign? Your point is well taken, but to me it doesn’t feel ideologically inconsistent to put campaign donations to work and spend them in the election.

I can’t help but wonder what 2028 will look like, especially as interest in Bitcoin continues to grow.

I bet mostly he gets donations in $
