Bluesky is taking notes from Nostr's playbook, adding "personal data servers" for users to host their social graph.

Everything goes through your filter, it's a scam

centralize -> -> decentralize OOPS AT Procotol

Is BlueSky growing now? I think it was just some exodus from Twitter and now it’s a quaint little village. Same with Mastodon

I could be wrong

They opened up publicly and hit 3M users I believe.

Not much news after that

Any idea how many users #Nostr is at right now?

I think maybe 1/3 of those are derelict accounts that went back to twitter after they got bored

Possibly.

It was just FOMO. I personally know X-ites who opened accounts but didn’t post even once. They’re merrily back on X. No one has the bandwidth to be on multiple X clones

This happened on Mastodon multiple times as well. Something happens on twitter and theres a huge exodus but they never stay

I believe the biggest reason for that is because the people exodusing there aren't that interesting and without algorithms and pre-elon Twitter's moderation they just dont get any attention or social authority. For example George Takei - he landed on some random mastodon server run by some dude. What a nightmare. Takei is on bluesky now lol

I didn’t find BlueSky interesting at all. Just a Twitter clone minus old friends

I’m keen to know the DAU for BlueSky

It sounds as if they're a long way behind nostr in terms of technical advancement and do they even have zaps or some equivalent?
