I want to add you to wss://lang.relays.land/la . I noticed you had marked it as a favorite. If you post a new standalone note in Latin, I can republish it there.

There are not many speakers. I think we can all sharpen our skills, if we'd like, until fluent speakers arrive. (Though, I think most fluent Latin speakers also teach it, haha)

I just woke up and I am too tired to try translating all of that ๐Ÿ˜…

It took me half an hour to read yout note and an hour to write. My Latin teacherยน used to say that this language demands atention and a kind of slo-mo approach, not hurry at all. ๐Ÿ˜… Take your time.

Ok. I'll try out to post something in Latin.๐Ÿค”

Nos salvum tuum cerebrum et mea. ๐Ÿ˜„

I have been studying for about a year, very loosely and informally through audio & written submersion, cross reference, and conversation. I have friends who speak ancient languages, not fluently, but quite well. They made me curious long ago.

When I first decided to learn a new language, I started studying Spanish and quickly realized that the little bits of Latin that I already knew had more utility in my practical life, because of the people I know, the subjects that interest me, etc.

What is your motivation?

Very, very interesting.

My motivation was literary: I wished one day I could read Virgil and Horace and Augustine

Post scriptum II: It seems that the correct conjugation is ยซrespondeยป (jussive or imperative mood of ยซrespondeoยป):

ยซQuaeso qui responde in Latine mihi.ยป ๐Ÿซ

I thought 'respondeo' would be 'to reply' while 'responde' would be 'I reply' ....hmmm. I need to study more ๐Ÿ˜…

We need it ๐Ÿ˜… (I need it too)
