i wish clients would let you check which relays a post came from. i'm trying to assess relays here and it's difficult when you can't even see that information. there is also a NIP that recommends a relay along with a post and i'd like to see that information also. i need to look at some dev tools i guess. there must be a "debugger" type tool out there that lets you view all the data coming from the relays.

Nostr band

Copy note ID and put it in the search, thats how ive been noticing all my freaking notes are only going to and through 2 relays since i started.

not sure how pasting in the search helps... none of my clients reveal anything about relays when i do that.

On nostr band, tells the relays there on. Im still digging for more data on relays aswell

you can see them using nostrgram.co there's a setting for that.

all the data? not sure, check fiatjafs github.

problem with using nostrgram.co: it automatically refuses to read from free relays since it assumes they're all full of spam. and one of the things i want to assess is whether this is always true, to which extent it is true, etc.

No it doesn't. NostrGram only reads from paid relays for the Global feed. For the other feeds it reads from 150+ relays -- paid and free.

the global feed is what i want an unfiltered view of

Only if you love porn and spam.

Unfiltered global to me is a little like bladerunner on the ground. A lot of weird trash, but some interesting nuggets and a jewel sometimes.. Sometimes interesting to explor. You have some really nice filters #[4] , maybe you have an β€˜open global’ filter?

not for day-to-day use but for getting an overview. i come from a computer background. before i can sit back and let the computer do the work for me, i want to inspect that it's doing that work correctly first.

I get that. I'll an option into NostrGram to let you turn off the paid filter. It's not complicated to do so.

ah, you're (on) the dev (team). what do you feel is the main thing that sets the client apart from others?

I am the dev team lol. It's a one man show. I'm not trying to set the client apart from others to be honest. I'm just making the client I want. As it turns out a lot of people want what I want, too, and have made lots of suggestions for things I didn't know I wanted until they suggested it. So it's evolving with the user base.

i am not even the least bit surprised that you're doing it alone. this is how it is, even for some of the biggest SW projects out there.

As already mentioned there is an option to see the relays of every note in nostgram. You can also see the full JSON of a note by going to ... > Note Info. The data for this post for example is :

```
