I feel so lucky that I can spend the whole day out in the forest with my dogs finding all sorts of delightful mushroom gifts. It just feels so peaceful and right to be out there tromping around and being in the elements of nature.

I’ll get a shot of them next time I’m out

Show us the mushrooms! 🍄

Here’s one of the bigger chanterelles I found today:

How did you learn about mushroom hunting? Is all the talk about eating the wrong wild mushrooms and winding up dead just a psyop?

Taught myself like most skills I have. Took me about five years to learn to be confident and comfortable with what I was picking, but once you have it down for certain types it becomes much easier. Really you just need to know what are the deadly poisonous ones, the look alike, and which ones are easy to know. I probably know about 2 dozen eatable types around my area and the handful of poisonous ones too. The pysop is just retards eating things they don’t feel confident about.

Now that’s a fuckin tree

Not many things that reset the system like the woods.

What sorts of mushrooms have you found? Boletus & Cantharellus?

Watch out for them mountain lions. And don’t twist an ankle and not be able to move and die of hypothermia. And don’t eat a poison mushroom. And be careful a widowmaker doesn’t fall out of a redwood and hit you…

…you know what, maybe just stay home where it’s safe.
