Makes sense to me. I don’t want to relay spam or store it in my mempool. I also don’t want to reduce my ability to claim plausible deniability for hosting illicit material on my node.

Not sure how anyone that is not financially motivated and understands what is happening could have that takeaway. But if that was the case then it would make sense.
