I think you misunderstood. Let's be extremely generous & assume 10% of the population is Bitcoin friendly no matter what. There are still not enough hardcore Bitcoiners for us to say "fuck everyone who doesn't get it" without there being a serious chance of 90% of the population turning on us completely. CBDCs allow authoritarians to potentially turn everyone against us with financial rewards & punishments. But if only 10% wind up trapped by CBDCs because 80% started using tether tokens on LN to make micropayments & to connect their siloed services (venmo to cash app, etc) then that's a better future for us & the door to bitcoin adoption remains open for most of the normie 90%.

doesn't jurisdictional arbitrage play a part at that point. don't we just move somewhere bitcoin friendly and start a commune like in atlas shrugged?

Sure... But wouldn't it be dramatically better to avoid having to move & to have their system leaking all over in many different ways rather than just through people who can afford to escape geographically?
