I pretty much always skip breakfast. Just eat lunch and dinner. Which works out to be an 18:6 most days.

I remember never feeling like eating breakfast as a kid. But my parents made me since it was “the most important meal of the day” lol
My body knew..
Same. I had to be forced to eat breakfast every morning as a kid.
I eat when I'm hungry. never been a problem with health 40 years in thus far. too many general prescriptions with diet & not enough organic individual feed back loops.
Story of my life until I started eating steak and eggs for breakfast. Lost 10 lbs within 3 weeks of starting. My wife bakes me cookies and treats all the time too.
There’s this theory that the body eats until it gets enough protein and then hunger basically subsides. Which I’ve found to be true, so maybe you weren’t getting as much protein and the additional 100 grams first thing in the morning was super helpful in lowering total calories.
I didn’t know this! Makes sense! Thank you for this.
This is partly why people feel so full on carnivore/keto/low carb while simultaneously eating lower calories.
I’ve been doing low carb, but I’m definitely not getting enough protein. When I get hungry I would chug water. I’m going to incorporate more protein. Side note, check out the benefits of doing a gallon of diy alkaline water a day. (Lemon + Himalayan sea salt)
General rule of thumb is 0.8-1.0 gram of protein per pound of body weight.
I think the fasting shrunk my stomach so much I just don’t feel the hunger like I should. Going to step it up. 💪🏻
Do you take any protein shakes or supplements to make sure you get enough even if your full or are you pretty good with the food intake and protein daily? Bc I don’t eat something typically until 10-10:30am but I’m up at 4:30. I’m going to try to wait until 11/12 to eat but after you said what people should be consuming protein wise. I know I don’t get that much haha. Was easier back in the day while playing sports and only focused on working out/eating right.
I probably get 50 grams a day from shakes and like 170 from food. So a little from shakes.
Hmm fairly sure that doesn’t add up. Experiment by eating a lot of carbs (with minimal protein) when you’re hungry. You’ll get full.
IMO it’s more of how much volume you’re putting in your stomach. 1 lb of broccoli will fill you up more than 1 oz of pure protein.
Volume definitely plays a role too.
