Yes 🙌

I had a long conversation with my buddy who grew up in Dominica. He made a good point; savings is a western privilege people in developing countries and many don’t have all basic necessities and can’t even think about saving until they get their basic necessities.

At the end of the call we agreed the “bitcoin is savings” narrative needs to evolve into earn bitcoin. People in developing countries need to earn before they can even think about saving.

Going to try to record a podcast on the matter, who would be interested in this?!

What a word salad 🥗 should’ve drank my coffee before posting 😂

For people in developed countries where money “works” the Bitcoin is savings narrative prevails. In developing countries, a different narrative prevails. I like “earn” seems like it is widely applicable. 👍

We are going to put up a little web in the coming days to drive this point home.

Nostr, a new way to earn.

Bitcoin/lightning is great for remittances as well.

The conversation goes much further. Before we started discussing “bitcoin is savings” I was trying to purple pill my friend. He told me he was trying to go back to his original roots and be completely disconnected from the Internet and he asked me, why would people who are not on the Internet want to join Nostr? He mentioned people in Dominica aren’t on social media or the internet really. When I told him Nostr is a new way for people to earn, it immediately clicked for him and he said he would look into Nostr after initially brushing it off.

In my opinion Nostr is the tool we needed to be able to onboard the next billion people and eventually everyone who is currently offline to the internet.

Super Bullish on Nostr!
